Terms of Service
Effective date: July 16, 2026
These terms cover your use of the eBay Reseller Toolkit browser extension ("the extension") and the optional Pro subscription. By installing or using the extension, you agree to these terms. We've kept them in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are
The extension is built and maintained by an individual software developer ("we", "us", "the developer of eBay Reseller Toolkit"). The extension is an independent, third-party tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay Inc. "eBay" is a trademark of eBay Inc., used here only to describe compatibility with eBay's platform.
2. What the extension does
The extension adds optional tools directly onto eBay's own public pages in your browser: sorting search results by sold count, an on-page sold comps panel (median price, price range, items sold in a recent window), and a net profit calculator that applies eBay's published fee structure to numbers you enter. It only reads pages you are already viewing in your browser — it does not log into eBay on your behalf, does not automate bidding, listing, messaging, or following, and does not modify your eBay account or its data.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the extension only:
- For your own lawful reselling, research, or personal use;
- In a way that complies with eBay's own Terms of Use and applicable law;
- Without attempting to reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense, or repackage the extension itself;
- Without using the extension to scrape, automate, or bulk-harvest eBay data at a scale or rate that would violate eBay's terms.
The extension is a display layer over public pages you are already viewing — it does not perform bulk scraping, bidding automation, or any action on your eBay account without a direct click from you. Misuse of the extension to circumvent eBay's own rate limits or terms is your responsibility, not ours.
4. Subscription & billing (Pro)
The Free tier is usable indefinitely, with the limits described on our pricing page. The optional Pro subscription is $5.99/month or $49/year, unlocking unlimited comps lookups, price-range stats, CSV export, and the sortable search report. The net profit calculator is included free in the Free tier, without a usage cap.
- Pro subscriptions are billed and processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), acting as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, sales tax/VAT, invoicing, and payment disputes. Your payment relationship for billing purposes is with Paddle, subject to Paddle's own Buyer Terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually, matching the plan you chose) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; see our Refund Policy for what happens to the current billing period.
- Pro status in the extension itself is validated by our own license service, independently of Paddle's checkout — see our Privacy Policy §4 for exactly how that works and what data is (and isn't) involved.
- We may change Pro pricing going forward; existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect on their subscription.
5. License grant
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the extension for its intended purpose. All rights, title, and interest in the extension — including its code, design, and branding — remain with us. This license does not grant you any rights to eBay's own data, trademarks, or platform, which remain eBay's.
6. Disclaimers
The extension is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (to the extent permitted by law) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Sold-comps figures and profit calculations are estimates based on publicly available eBay data and the fee structure you or eBay's pages provide. We do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or that they match eBay's own final accounting.
- We do not guarantee the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every version of eBay's site — eBay may change its pages at any time, which can temporarily break features until we ship a fix.
- Nothing in the extension is financial, tax, or legal advice. Decisions about pricing, listing, or selling are yours alone.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the extension — even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the extension or the Pro subscription is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Termination
You may stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling any active Pro subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access to the extension or the Pro tier if you violate these terms (for example, abusive automation or attempts to circumvent licensing). Sections that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitation of liability, and this sentence) do survive it.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the extension or Pro tier changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where reasonable, noted in the extension's release notes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not affect any consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence, including rights arising from Paddle's role as Merchant of Record for your purchase.
